Just your regular ol’ 1930s B-western, no big deal. It’s the work of another journeyman director on a schedule that’s tighter than Jen Selter’s workout pants. It’s another plot that’s been made fifty-seven times already that year alone. Another series of simple master shots. Another steadfast and sturdy hero, pure of heart and wide of hat. If you’re looking for the better flicks among what seems like thousands of these of the time, this isn’t one of them.
The story: the good guy (Bob Steele) gets to work out his gun hand when he faces off against a bandit (Earl Dwire) who’s trying to usurp some recently inherited land. Along the way, as always, he also falls in love with the only woman in the film (Roberta Gale). Run time: About fifty-five minutes.
