Angel of Fury (1991)

Hordes of street fighter cronies, gunplay galore, a motorcycle pursuit, a boat chase, one exploding helicopter, a few sneering sexists and a main bad guy named Bolt all work against martial arts expert Cynthia Rothrock as she protects a super-secret government computer MacGuffin in a briefcase. Needless to say, none of the former stand a chance. Cynthia belts ’em all in the face, stomach or crotch, even if she has to crash through the windshield of a moving van to do it. Her greatest enemy here: some hacksaw editing moments that confuse the action a bit, but what else is new in the world of low-budget Indonesian movies? The upside is that the kung fu moves fly at a breakneck pace with not much plot to get in the way. It aims to entertain and it stumbles on its way there, but it gets there. It’s a straight-to-video good time.
