Mark Hamill couldn’t have less screen charisma if he was a coat rack in this comedy hackjob. Annie Potts upstages him with ease as your regular Manic Pixie Hooker with a Heart of Gold. So does Dick Miller in one quick scene. So does the Corvette Stingray that Hamill’s high school student character tricks out and re-paints until it looks like something that a cartoon character would drive. Still, the main reason to see this is the curiosity of catching Luke Skywalker, looking like he just blew up The Death Star the day before, in a goofball teen flick. The second reason to see it are some nice period views of Las Vegas. It’s where Hamill has tracked down his stolen car one wacky 70s summer, don’t ya know? The whole affair drags on for a long 105 minutes with only a few light threats to the PG-rating (a few sexual situations, but no nudity) to ease the pain.
