If actual teenagers were as witty as the kids in this great high school sex comedy, I wouldn’t be so staunchly in favor of the draft. The dialogue is consistently quick, sharp, and hilarious in this story of two adolescent pussyhounds who’ve plowed through nearly every girl in their high school and want more. So they quit the football team and join the cheerleading squad, which takes them to a cheerleader camp where the girls outnumber the guys about 972 to 1. Not even the predictable sensitive turn that the story takes when one of the guys discovers “true love” spoils this.
The critics came at this one with hatchets and it was a box office bomb, yet I think this has “sex comedy classic” written all over it (and it’s way better than, say, American Pie). Cult movie potential here.
