The Defilers (1965)

defilersThere’s only one thing that matters in this crummy, square-infested world: kicks!

So says Carl the sadist in this slimy 68-minute classic, full of spankings, 60s teen lingo, and girls who never keep their bras, panties or bikinis on for very long.

Carl and Jameison are a couple of rich kids who don’t do much with their time other than roll around with their girlfriends and smoke pot. Jameison is fine with that, but Carl’s getting restless. Carl’s losing interest in girls and becoming more interested in girls with black eyes and bloody noses. He has a filthy room in the basement of a building his father owns where he likes to take dates and smack them around. Even that’s getting a little boring though so Carl talks Jameison, who’s sort of the Perry Smith to Carl’s Dick Hickock, into some bigger, riskier “kicks”… like kidnapping themselves a sex slave.

The Defilers is one of the definitive 60s “roughies”, a genre that was the violent, disturbing cousin of the cornier, sillier “nudie cutie” film.
