The Playgirls and the Vampire (1960)

The playgirls are all right, but the vampire could stand to try a little harder in this Italian cheapie. It’s entertaining as an artifact of “naughty” 1960. The story is the standard stuff in which travelers in the night take shelter in an old dark house, but this time it’s a group of bickering showgirls. They start dying, but first they change into little nighties and do a few stripper-style dances (“it’s the only way to help them stop worrying”). The highlight is the scene where one of the dead girls rises as a naked vampire, clad only in strategic shadows—and the strategy sometimes fails—and tries to drink their manager’s blood.
